Nick Meynen will talk about the connections between struggles for environmental justice and the various ways through which sustainable and socially-just economy and society comes into existence.
This keynote is part of the summerschools degrowth & climate.
Nick is a geographer with a postgraduate in conflict studies who became a professional environmental activist back in 2008. He now works as a senior policy officer for systemic change at the European Environmental Bureau. He’s also an investigative journalist and author of literary non-fiction books such as: “Frontlines. Stories of Global Environmental Justice”. He writes for various media such as De Standaard, MO* and Meta. Nick connects stories on the struggles for environmental justice to the flaws in our economic system and is mostly focussed at enabling a systemic change at the European level. Nick is also guest lecturer at various universities in Belgium and the UK
