Job description

The research team under the supervision of Prof. Wim Declercq (Department of Biomedical Molecular Biology, WE14, and Center for Inflammation Research, VIB, Faculty of Sciences, Ghent University, Belgium) has a vacancy for an excellent and highly motivated junior postdoctoral scientist with experience in cancer biology to join our studies on the role of RIPK4 in skin cancer. The successful candidate will be responsible for studying mechanisms of the tumor-suppressive activity of RIPK4 in skin cancer in cells and mouse skin cancer models. He/she will work in a highly dynamic and innovative environment ( The applicant should be highly motivated and passionate about driving and performing research and associated laboratory tasks, and be able to work independently.

Job profile

  • Junior postdoc in the field of cancer biology.
  • A track record of first author publications in peer reviewed journals is required.
  • FELASA C or equivalent degree accreditation is required.
  • Hands-on experience with in vivo and ex vivo analyses, in vivo mouse cancer models, immunohistochemistry, molecular biology technologies, single cell RNA-Seq is preferred.
  • Experience with FACS analysis is recommended.
  • Engaged scientist, detail-oriented, with excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Proficient in oral and written scientific English.
  • Able to effectively report and present scientific data.
