Young Academy is looking for outstanding scientists

(22-11-2021) The Young Academy recruits around ten new members every year. They are young top scientists with a vision on science or artists with an affinity for science who want to contribute to the Young Academy.

The Young Academy brings together young top researchers and artists who have their own views on science, society and education. As a member of the Young Academy, you can contribute to the debate and public perception of science and art through views, campaigns, opinion pieces and events from the perspective of the young academic and artist.

Submitting a candidacy

Postdocs and young professors (m/f/x), generally 3 to 10 years after obtaining a PhD, are encouraged to apply for membership from 2022 to 2027. The selection of new members is based on scientific excellence, personal motivation and the contribution that candidate-new members want to bring to the Young Academy. You can submit your candidacy until Friday 17 December 2021.

Can I apply as an English-speaking researcher?

Yes! Candidate dossiers can be written in Dutch, in English or in a combination of both. However, the candidate should be aware that the Young Academy's meetings and reports are in Dutch and that membership of the Young Academy therefore requires knowledge of Dutch.
