Gift Box Diversity
Are you looking for an original and inclusive gift to honor your guest speaker, panel member or volunteer? Would you like appropriate gadgets for your visitors on your inclusive event? Then you might be interested in the tips below!
Inclusive literature
Are you looking for an alternative gift for the impersonal book voucher? Illustrator Shamisa Debroey was commissioned by the Network Diversity and Inclusion to design an accessible children's book as part of the VIRGO project of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. The story is about a girl who tries to make her little brother happy in a touching way with her love for science. With this book, the university wants to make children from underrepresented groups enthusiastic about STEM courses. The book focuses primarily on girls and children with a migration background.
Inclusive buttons
Address everyone with the right pronouns during your conference, event or reception and have your visitors pin the right button. Within the framework of the Transgender Policy of Ghent University, the Diversity and Inclusion Network designed eye-catching buttons where students and staff can express their solidarity with non-binary fellow students and colleagues or visitors. Individuals with a non-binary gender identity (i.e. those who do not identify as male or female) sometimes prefer to be addressed with gender-neutral pronouns such as 'they/them/theirs', instead of he/him/his or she/her/her. For example: "They will be joining our meeting later because no meeting request was sent to them. However, they have canceled another meeting in their agenda so they can join us later”.
Inclusive coffee mug
Serve coffee from this striking mug during your conference, event or reception. As part of the Transgender Policy, the Diversity and Inclusion Network designed coffee bags with which cisgender students and staff can express their solidarity with transgender fellow students, colleagues and visitors.
