Specific course requirements
To participate in the course, the following is required:
- A good knowledge of the English language
- A good knowledge of introductory microeconomics. Students should have successfully passed an introductory course in Economics and, in addition, a first intermediate course in microeconomics. The level obtained should be similar to Varian, H.R. (2014), Intermediate microeconomics.
- A good understanding of formal mathematical statements and techniques (partial derivatives, optimization).
The course covers the following topics:
- Producer behavior
- Consumer behavior
- General equilibrium
- Behavior under uncertainty
- Game theory
- Asymmetric information, moral hazard and adverse selection
The teaching method uses formal lectures and sessions with exercises.
During the exam period there will be a written exam.
