Koen Vlassenroot is professor in political and social sciences at the Department for Conflict and Development Studies, Ghent University (Belgium), where he leads the Conflict Research Group. He is an expert in the analysis of conflict in Central Africa, with specific attention to governance, armed groups, access to justice and security, and the management of natural resources. He is involved in a number of research projects focusing on the links between conflict and migration, access to justice for displaced people and the return en reintegration of displaced people.
