This lecture will empower researchers to understand the difference between what is and is not acceptable in conducting or publishing research.

Lecture by Prof. Catherine Van der Straeten (Health, innovation and research institute, University Hospital Ghent)

Scientific research is legitimated by the quality of its execution and research integrity is an important element of this. We pursue correct scientific behavior, but it might be hard to define this. What is scientific misconduct and what is not?

With tangible examples and demonstrating the grey zone there is, this lecture will empower researchers to understand the difference between what is and is not acceptable in conducting or publishing research.

The lecture will provoke further reflection, alertness and awareness of responsible conduct in research and leave room for further questions.
